In the Orange Rag newsletter out at the end of March, we featured our monthly product news table, incorporating the launches and updates of the past few weeks.

A key theme that we see time and time again in new product launches at the moment is the continued “platformisation” of legal tech. Providers such as DISCO, Consilio and Epiq are packaging capabilities that were historically discrete – review, analytics, operations intelligence and managed services – into unified environments. This reflects client demand for fewer point solutions and more connected ecosystems that reduce integration overhead and support enterprise-scale adoption.

A second dominant trend is the deep integration of generative AI into core productivity tools and legal workflows. Harvey’s Microsoft 365 Copilot integration exemplifies how adoption is increasingly driven by meeting lawyers where they already work, rather than introducing standalone AI interfaces. Similarly, NetDocuments’ Smart Answers and LexisNexis’s InterAction+ AI illustrate how established platforms are repositioning themselves as active knowledge and relationship intelligence hubs rather than passive repositories. This suggests a broader shift from “AI as add-on” to AI as an ambient capability embedded across the legal work lifecycle.
