International law firm Simmons & Simmons today (13 April) welcomes eight students to its inaugural AI law internship programme.
Running from 13 to 24 April in London, the two-week programme will give interns hands-on experience in both tech-focused and legal AI roles within the firm’s AI team.
Those on the programme are in their penultimate or final year of an undergraduate course, as well as postgraduate students and graduates. Opportunities for a future role at the firm will be open to stand-out individuals on the programme.
Peter Lee, partner and AI governance lead, said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming our talented interns this week. As AI reshapes how legal services are delivered, it is vital that future lawyers and technologists understand both the opportunities and the risks. This internship gives students direct exposure to real AI matters and practical skills that will be central to their careers.”
We can expect to see more programmes like this announced as the war on AI talent intensifies.
