Thank you to everyone who entered our 30th anniversary competition to create an image representing the most significant innovations in legal tech over the past three decades. The winners have now been decided!

We have had some very creative entries – thank goodness for AI, which people have in many cases used to combine ideas and concepts that have impacted the way we practice in the legal sector forever. The themes are broad, from the BlackBerry that allowed us to work away from our desk, to the Unicode unique character codes that enable computers to represent text from different languages in a consistent way, to digital dictation, the birth of email and, of course, AI.

We didn’t bar vendors, although for those vendors that simply included an image of their own product, nice try! The winners were decided anonymously by our audience over social media in order to make sure of a diverse and independent judging panel.

This 30th year milestone is very special to us for lots of different reasons. Thank you for being a part of it. We can’t wait to see what the next 30 years will bring but can guarantee that legal practice will be forever transformed.

In 1st place: James Lawler, managing director at Tricostar (pictured bottom left).

In 2nd place: Ben Mills, commercial director at Law Firm Services/ Minerva (pictured bottom right).

In 3rd place: Josie Johnson, CCXO at Blickstein Group (Josie is based in the US so was unable to attend).
