Trailmate launched as its own entity in January 2026 to handle client communication and administrative tasks such as onboarding and evidence collection, describing itself as the first fully autonomous, client-facing digital employee. We ask the founding team to tell us more about the company, founders, and something we didn’t already know.

How would you describe your company to a friend?

Trailmate is a digital employee for law firms. It handles all the back-and-forth with clients, from chasing documents, gathering information, sending reminders, etc, so lawyers and staff don’t have to. It handles client communication end to end, from intake through resolution, in a way that can be supervised by the law firm.

And to a techy?

Trailmate is a client-facing, agentic AI system for law firms that autonomously executes structured workflows with clients. Firms delegate work via natural language, which Trailmate converts into a structured list of tasks, and engages the client in multimodal conversations (text and voice). Through these structured conversations, Trailmate validates completion of each objective and reports outcomes back to the firm through a dashboard.

When were you founded?

June 2025

By who?

Manny Starr

Who are your key managers/senior execs?

Manny Starr – Founder & CEO

Vipul Nandan – Co-Founder & CTO

Who are your target clients?

Consumer-facing law firms that manage high volumes of client communication, including employment law, personal injury, immigration, family law, landlord-tenant, and similar practice areas.

What is your plan (growth strategy)?

Trailmate is expanding from its initial deployment inside a real law firm (Frontier Law Center) where the concept was validated, into the broader legal market through early-adopter firms, deep workflow integrations with leading case-management systems, and founder led sales.

Key achievements?

· Built and deployed Trailmate as a production system handling real client communications for Frontier Law Center.

· Demonstrated measurable reductions in staff time spent on client chasing and follow-ups. In the last 90 days, Trailmate has saved our firm over 300 hours of staff time chasing clients, has autonomously collected over 2,100 documents from clients, and completed over 600 distinct tasks.

· We officially launched on January 14, and since then, we have a handful of early access customers. We are actively engaging new potential customers through founder led outreach, and are working on raising capital to fuel go-to-market efforts.

Have there been any key changes in direction since you were founded?

No – although see below.

What are the key challenges in your market?

Client responsiveness, constant need to follow-up and chase clients for documents and information.

Tell us something people don’t already know about the company?

Trailmate didn’t start as a company. It started as a narrow internal tool that I built to solve a specific operational pain point inside my own law firm. We focused on solving that single problem well, then gradually expanded the system’s scope as it proved reliable in real, client-facing use. Only after it was handling meaningful work across live matters did it become clear that this wasn’t just an internal fix, but a broadly applicable operating model. Trailmate was then spun out as a standalone business based on what had already been battle-tested in production.
