This month our inaugural expert legal tech clinic panellist is Derek Southall, founder and CEO of digital and innovation advisory group Hyperscale Group and chairman of the respected UK Legal IT Innovators Group.
The issue in question is being played out across the legal sector, but in this case is from a large international law firm.
“We are preparing our 2026 data strategy and looking to move to a new SaaS case management system. It isn’t a project we’re looking forward to. What systems out there would you recommend?”
Derek says:
“First to be clear this is definitely not a question for the faint hearted or one to be answered by Generative AI as it is not straight forward. Many firms and in house clients are very interested in this area.
In recent years the market has been in flux. Many traditional players have been purchased by large PE backed groups. We have seen products end of lifed, whilst others have become hosted before moving to true Saas.
