Harvey today (16 March) unveiled a heavyweight in-house customer advisory board, which includes Bob Hoyt, the chief legal officer of HSBC Holdings.
Harvey got its start working with law firms, working with them to gain feedback on developing its product. The general legal AI startup says that it is now applying that same approach to in-house teams and requesting that same level of feedback and partnership that it has had with law firms for the past three years. Harvey says that it already works with more than 500 in-house legal teams worldwide.
The inaugural advisory board members are:
Andrew Stephens, general counsel, MongoDB. Stephens has led legal strategy through MongoDB’s rapid growth and public market expansion. He previously held senior roles at LinkedIn and Logitech and has guided companies through successful IPOs.
Alison Zoellner, group general counsel, Dentsu Group Inc. Zoellner oversees legal matters across Dentsu’s global organization. She previously held senior leadership roles at Honeywell and The New York Times Company and began her career at Sullivan & Cromwell.
Bob Hoyt, chief legal officer, HSBC Holdings. Hoyt leads HSBC’s global legal function and serves on the group operating committee. He previously served as general counsel of the U.S. Department of the Treasury and associate counsel to the president.
Kamala Vasagam, senior vice president, chief counsel for global legal operations & innovation, NBCUniversal. Vasagam leads legal operations, technology, and innovation for NBCUniversal’s global legal function. She previously served as General Counsel of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management and as Special Assistant to the President at the White House.
Ray Geoffroy, senior vice president, general counsel, and corporate secretary, Koch. Geoffroy leads global legal and compliance, government affairs, and public policy functions across Koch and serves on multiple corporate boards within the Koch enterprise. Yurko said: “In our legal and regulatory department, we have been on a multi-year mission to create processes and use technology to elevate our team to its highest and best use. Our partnership with Harvey has turbo charged those efforts — driving innovation, deepening collaboration across teams, and freeing up bandwidth for more strategic work. Being part of Harvey’s customer advisory board is an opportunity to continue that partnership and support their efforts to be on the cutting edge of delivering real impact for in house legal teams globally.”
Winston Weinberg, CEO of Harvey, added: “The leaders joining this advisory board aren’t just transforming their legal departments. They’re helping shape how AI is deployed responsibly across their organizations. We’re proud to partner with them as we build the future of AI-powered Legal together.”
