Legal IT Insider sat down at the end of the year with strategic advisor Jenifer Swallow to reflect on some of the key milestones of 2025 and get our crystal ball out for 2026. We also revisited some of our predictions from last year to see how they stack up.
Key themes from our conversation include ethics and governance and the intersection of AI; AI adoption and the shift from hallucination fixation to broader risk management; the trend towards standardisation in legal processes and adoption of frameworks; and the potential, perhaps at last, for technical competence requirements. Swallow predicts that next year we will see a significant amount of work being retained in-house, serviced by technology instead of outside counsel.
This was a fascinating chat as ever, listen below. Swallow is a former general counsel at fintech unicorn Wise and the former CEO of LawtechUK.
